Lake Murray Jaycees - Adopt A Highway

The Adopt-A-Highway program is run by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.  Any organization agreeing to sign-up to participate in the program is required to clean-up an assigned section of their road for two years.  The pick-up days are scheduled by the Department on four different Saturdays per year.  A sign is constructed and placed along the route designating the name of the organization adopting the road.

When Gianandrea Maoli first joined the chapter, he encouraged the members to participate.  Our chapter was a part of the program from November 2008 to November 2010 and successfully gathered over 100 bags of trash during that time!  The road adopted is along SC 6 over the
Red Bank area, stretching 2 miles from Boling Springs road down to Bluefield Rd.
